Constantina FILIOU, PhD

Dr.-Ing. Constantina Filiou has been with the European Commission (EC) since 1997 coordinating R&D on cleaner energy technologies and later managing the CO2 Capture and Storage European Industrial Initiative under the Strategic Energy Technology Plan.
She is currently working as a Policy Officer at the EC Directorate General for Energy, following up activities on the smart metering roll-out and smart grids. She is contributing to the work of the European Smart Grids Task Force and in particular to the steering of the expert group for accelerating the implementation of trans-European smart grids infrastructure projects.

She holds a diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Patras (GR) and a Ph.D. from the University of London (UK).
